Raw talent in the making
Aimee MacKenzie is a 17-year-old supreme singer song-writer who I first met 4 years ago when she was at the tender age of 13, and Kevin her dad, requested an appearance on Brooklands FM (as it was called then) at one of our popular Live Lounge events, where we invited up and coming local singers, bands and musicians to play a set at our studios during an all-day live music extravaganza.
Her performances were spellbinding, and we quickly established a rapport which led to Aimee appearing on some of my radio shows as co-presenter. Since then, Aimee has appeared on several of our live music events, and always managing to exceed our expectations with her heartfelt song-writing, natural singing ability and engaging stage presence.
Her visit to our studios on Sunday 30th December 2012 was the first time we had seen her in a couple of years and it served as a timely reminder of why I do what I do… This is about individuals who are passionate about their craft, oozing with raw talent, determination and above all, a desire to share their art with fellow music lovers and positively influence people’s lives.
Aimee has recently enlisted her incredibly talented younger sister Freya as her accompaniment on violin and vocals, and they both put on a supreme performance on the show with impeccable timing, sublime harmonies, and Freya’s masterful violin adding new textures and elements to Aimee’s songs and taking them to completely new levels.
I have to say I feel proud to have been part of Aimee’s journey so far and I am very much looking forward to the next part of her journey, which is our journey, and hope you are a part of it too!
