Hannah Dorman

Long legs, wild hair, powerful sultry vocals, appealing songs, and this is just the beginning

I first met Hannah Dorman in April 2009 when I had the opportunity to organise my first ever Live Lounge for Brooklands FM (as it was called then).  I remember her as a young, very attractive and supremely confident 16-year-old with a burning ambition to become a pop star.  She came to our studios armed with her guitar, her devoted parents, and a handful of self-penned songs which, for someone with no formal training were well-written, appealing and quite charming.

Since then, Hannah has visited our studios countless times as a guest artist, has been a featured artist on several Brooklands Radio outside live music events, and has even been a co-host on the show!   When we arranged this latest visit I was particularly excited because it is the very first time Hannah has come accompanied by her own band, and I just didn’t know what to expect.  Her band is formed of three fellow ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music) students, all prolific musicians and just as enthusiastic and bursting with talent as their band leader.

During her Under The Radar session, Hannah and her band performed 4 acoustic numbers including the title track from her forthcoming EP “Words” which is due for release in February 2013.   Self-penned, these songs are strong, very well written, and Hannah’s powerful vocals together with some very tight backing from her band provide an original, fresh and very distinctive sound, which still has the stamp of that 16-year old we met way back when, but has evolved into a polished, wide-appealing collection of very likeable songs.

Check out HD footage of three of the songs from the show below, plus of course, the session in full.  If you like what you see and hear, visit Hannah’s website where you will be treated to a free download plus all you need to know about this supreme up and coming songstress.
