Julie Hawk Live Session Sunday 30 September 2012

The delicate voice of a beauty from the Emerald Isle

Julie Hawk

The first thing that strikes you as Julie Hawk starts to play her guitar is the pureness and confident quality of her finger-picking, and just as you drift away to a good place, her voice leaves you under no illusion that this is a truly inspiring, original, and thoughtful songstress.

Julie grew up in the West coast of Ireland where she learned piano at 5 followed by fiddle and guitar, and although she always sung as many types of songs as she could, it wasn’t until 2011 when she finally came up with her own sound and her first self-penned song was born.  Since then she has thrown herself into her art writing more songs and honing her craft at open mic evenings and gigging at live music venues around London and the UK.  Her first single, The Value of Gold was released in June 2012.

Here are some videos of her performance, plus the show in full for your listening pleasure.  Make sure you visit her website and support her by not only downloading her music but by sharing with fellow music lovers.

You can download the fabulous “Value of Gold” on iTunes

Here Julie describes the first time she performed her song The Value of Gold at her first ever open mic evening.

A truly magnificent performance of Age in Years
